Unrequited Love
Chapter 2: Morning after rejections.. Keep trying? Or just forget?

"Love... Something that digs deep into the soul, something that changes a person. Something that can make or break some broken body. Love. A pain. A joy. The biggest regret of all..." Kid said as he stared at his ceiling. "Love... Something I wish could be erased... Something I wish a grim reaper like I... Would not be able to feel... Though it seems I will not be allowed to love at all.. The one I love is taken.. The one I love is not mine... I must keep that in mind... I have everlasting life... She is mortal... We are simply to different... I do not wish to live knowing what I cannot have her... Even for a short while..." He said holding his hand over his heart. "..I'm so broken... Even if I did have her... She'd never be able to repair so many wounds that scar my heart... I give up... I will let Soul have her..." His voice cracked as a few tears rolled down his cheeks.

"..yeah... Let Soul have her.. She might get mistreated or cheated on and she will be the broken one afterwards.." Liz said standing in the door way. "By the way... Time to get up... We gotta go to school soon." She said softly. "Come on, I have a plan for you to get little miss symmetry." Liz winked and walked out of the room.

Kid POV

I sat up in bed and wiped away my tears. My cheeks had been stained a bright red from Liz's comment. 'Miss Symmetry... She is the most symmetrical girl I know...' I thought to myself as I stood up getting my suit out and laying it out on the bed. 'But symmetry isn't all I see in her... I never even bothered thinking about that... Or at least not until now..' I pulled on my blazer and straightened my tie. "Perfect Windsor knot. Always symmetrical." I said with a smirk. I slid my Shinigami skull rings on then got an idea. I took off one ring and looked for a small ring box it came in. I found it within seconds and put it in the ring slot, snapped the box shut and slid it in my pocket. 'Liz may have a good idea... But I want to test mine...' I thought as I put my pocket watch in my blazer pocket. "Time to throw my heart out again..." I said before running outside to join the girls.

Maka POV

"SOUL!!! WAKE UP BEFORE I BEAT YOU WITH A DICTIONARY!!" I yelled at Soul's bedroom door. My idiotic weapon shot up into a sitting position.

"IM UP!" He yelled and jumped to get dressed. I smirked and walked away to let him dress. I was just finishing off breakfast, my mind filled with what could of happened if I didn't tell Kid no. '...Soul is being oddly cooperative lately... Should I be worried..? Nah..' I thought. I quickly ate and then dressed. I looked in the mirror and carefully parted my hair then putting it into my signature pigtails. I fixed the skull clips so that they would be perfect and smiled.  

"Haha perfect~ now if only my uniform could stay clean around those slobs..." I thought aloud then heard Soul yell.  

"I HEARD THAT!!"

"Whatever Soul just go eat... We will be late... Again..." I said in a snobbish tone. Hearing him ranting wasn't my ideal way of spending my morning but... Oh well I have no choice. We are roommates after all is said and done. "Hurry up! Come on Soul! We gotta go!" I yelled from my room as I slid my sneakers on and grabbed my textbook and my own personal book.

"I'm coming I'm coming geez!! I'll be outside on my bike!" I heard Soul say then bolt outside.  

"Smart boy... He'd be beaten if he didn't run." I said to myself then walked outside to meet up with him and be driven to school.
